Sunlight streaming in through the bedroom window played lazily over Kurama's face. Large emerald eyes opened and glanced at the nightstand clock. 7:01. Good, he could stay in bed for just a little longer... Kurama noticed that somehow or other he'd gotten into his favourite pajamas--a green silk pair. Hiei. His eyes slid over to the fire-demon curled up against his chest and he smiled. It wasn't like Hiei to fuss so over him...
One eyelid slitted open and a ruby eye regarded him. Kurama sighed. "Pleasant as this is, Hiei, I've gotta go to work today."
The other eye opened and the Youko detected the traces of a smirk around the edges of Hiei's eyes. "Hmh." the fire-demon said, watching him.
Kurama frowned suspiciously. Hiei's expression made him vaguely uneasy. It was just about then he noticed that both his hands were above his head. Funny... I don't usually sleep like that... And they weren't coming down. He tugged at them a bit nervously and realized his wrists were tethered to the headboard.
"Hiei!"
The fire-demon gave him a fanged grin. "I told you you weren't going anywhere this week."
"But--Oh, come on!" Kurama sputtered, tugging harder.
"I tie knots pretty well," Hiei said, propping himself up on his elbows. "You're not going to get out of it like that."
"Look, Hiei..." Kurama glared at him with his best parental-doom look. "Untie me. I've got to go to work, and you know it."
"Do I?" Hiei leaned up and bit Kurama's ear lightly. Kurama squirmed.
"Don't do that!"
"Give me one good reason." Hiei replied, moving to trace behind the kitsune's ear with his tongue.
Kurama shivered and tried to pull away. "Hiei, I'm serious!"
"So am I." Hiei said, trailing down to suck gently at the quickening pulse at Kurama's throat. The fire-demon's arm draped possessively over his chest.
"Hiei... I'm going to get mad... I'll use force if I have to..."
Hiei smiled into the curve of his neck, then nipped the underside of his chin. "If you mean your plants... I washed all the seeds out of your hair last night."
Kurama gasped indignantly. "You--you sneaky little--!"
Hiei chuckled softly. "You have to admit it was clever. You never suspected, did you?" He moved to straddle Kurama and nuzzled the other side of his throat.
"Hiei!" Kurama protested, trying his bonds again with no success. "Look, you can't just...!"
"Oh, I assure you, I can. The other resident demons are out and you," he said, moving to kiss his mouth, "Are unprotected."
Kurama clamped his lips tightly shut and growled.
Hiei drew back a little and pouted at him. "Aww, you're no fun, Kurama."
"Of course I'm not!" Kurama nearly shouted. "You're forcing me! There's nothing fun about it!"
Hiei blinked then smiled. "Are you sure about that?"
"I--!" Hiei took advantage of Kurama opening his mouth to cover it with his own and slip his tongue in. Kurama uttered a protest that was smothered by Hiei's mouth. The fire-demon's tongue traced the inside of his lip. The Youko stubbornly refused to respond.
Hiei broke the kiss and drew back a little. "Fine," he huffed. "Be that way." He slipped open the first button of Kurama's pajama top and lowered his mouth to the exposed flesh.
"Hhhiei..." Kurama breathed, squirming. Hiei grinned and licked a path to the sensitive spot he had discovered the night before, trailing his teeth lightly over the place where collarbone met shoulder. Kurama moaned involuntarily, then clamped his mouth shut. Encouraged, Hiei bit at the juncture, while caressing Kurama's side with one hand, and continuing to unbutton his top with the other.
The little demon glanced up at his lover's face, smiling smugly at the tightly closed eyes and determined set of the sensuous mouth. You know you're going to lose, Kurama... he placed a light kiss on Kurama's closed lips. But you're so beautiful when you play hard to get...
Hiei slid one arm under Kurama to loop around his waist. With his free hand, he stroked the fox's chest through the silk, teasing the nipple he found.
"Hiei..."
Hiei continued calmly, leaning his head up to play with Kurama's ear again. He drew the lobe into his mouth, sucking lightly.
"Stop it..."
"Stupid fox," Hiei muttered, before twirling his tongue around the soft skin. "You should just do what I say."
"Can't..."
"Liar." Hiei replied, nipping the earlobe.
He moved down again, and kissed Kurama's other nipple through the silk. Hiei caressed it with his tongue, the fabric slowly becoming wet until the moisture reached Kurama's skin. The fox's body arched upwards.
"Ahhh..."
Give it up, fox...
Hiei opened the other side of Kurama's pajama top, stroking the smooth planes of his chest.
"Hiei...!"
"Oh, all right." the fire-demon threw the top completely open, took Kurama's nipple into his mouth directly. Kurama gave a strangled moan and strained against his bonds, his body pushing up instinctively into Hiei's caresses. The little youkai smiled and redoubled his efforts, sucking at the tender flesh, then sweeping with his tongue, his hand wandering over the other side of Kurama's body, teasing his other nipple.
"Hiei... I'm... ahhh... I'm not going to... I can't..."
Oh yes you will, Kurama.
"Hiei, please don't ..."
The fire-demon paused. "Don't what?"
"Don't make me quit..."
So you admit I can, then... "Just for a week," Hiei said, lapping again briefly at Kurama's nipple. Kurama groaned.
"I..."
Hiei leaned forward until he was eye to eye with Kurama. "Do I still have to convince you?"
Kurama's lifted his head and caught Hiei's mouth. Surprised but pleased, Hiei kissed him, the Youko responding enthusiastically this time. When their lips parted, Kurama's face was flushed, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "Go ahead and convince me, koibito."
Hiei kissed him again, passionately. The desire that had been building in him during this game had become a burning ache, and now that Kurama had accepted...
Hiei moved down to sit on Kurama's legs, noting a readiness which mirrored his own. Still, he had a point to prove, and he wasn't going to rush... Holding back from what he wanted, he leaned down and attacked Kurama's navel instead. He licked around the tiny opening, savouring the softness of his lover's skin. His hands slipped back to hold Kurama's hips and his tongue slipped in, filling the small, warm crevice. Kurama writhed, groaning, at the sensation, his wrists tugging helplessly at the soft but strong ties that held them.
Hiei continued, his head beginning to spin. He realized with some confusion that his hands were shaking. Why...? There was an unfamiliar sting behind his eyes, almost as if... His arms slid further under Kurama's body and for a moment he held him, pressing his cheek to Kurama's stomach. What am I... afraid of? he wondered.
Kurama started a bit as Hiei abruptly yanked off his pajama bottoms. Cool air rushed over his fevered flesh in almost painful contrast. He shivered a little, wanting Hiei to cover him, warm him. He was quickly answered by Hiei taking him into his mouth.
The fox gasped and threw back his head, unable to keep from crying out as lightning sensation ripped through his body. "Hiei..." he uttered, biting down on his lip. The fire-demon was relentless, taking him all the way in, swirling his tongue around him, pleasuring him now with no reservations. Kurama gasped at the change in tactics, dangerously close to coming. "Hiei..."
Kurama... The fox opened his tightly closed eyes. Kurama, please... Kurama gasped as Hiei's tongue swept his length, then swirled around the tip. Kurama, I'm begging you...
"Hiei? Wh--" Kurama was cut off as the fire-demon's expert attentions wrung another groan from him. Fox, I... Hiei had not spoken aloud. Kurama struggled to drag some conscious thought from the whirlpool of passion that enveloped him. Kurama, I need...
It was the connection, Kurama realized, that they had shared for years, which rarely manifested itself. When it did, it was usually only Kurama who perceived it, and vaguely; but now he could hear Hiei's thoughts in a clear torrent of words. And he was asking for...
...You. I need you, fox. Don't leave me...
Kurama gasped as he tried to understand and resist the intense, aggressive pleasure radiating through him.
Please Kurama, I can't live without you anymore... don't leave me again... I don't want to be alone...
Kurama lost control and cried out as his release flooded out of him.
"Hiei." he gasped after his vision had cleared. The fire-demon appeared above him, his ruby eyes bright and wild. "What--" Kurama was cut short as Hiei kissed him. The kiss was insistent and hesitant at the same time, and Kurama could still hear Hiei's thoughts adjacent to his own. Kurama, don't leave me, don't leave me, don't leave me... Kurama's mind raced even as he responded to the desperate kiss.
Have I neglected him that much? Oh, Hiei, I never meant to... He was overwhelmed with grief at the pain he'd caused his beloved. All he wanted to do was throw his arms around the little youkai and comfort him--but he couldn't get his wrists free. Hiei, I never wanted to hurt you like this...
Kurama struggled to catch his breath as Hiei finally released his mouth. "Itooshi!" he breathed. "Hiei, I'm sorry! I never thought... you felt that way..."
Hiei's eyes bored into his, large and as close to frightened as Kurama had ever seen. He kissed him again, closing his eyes tightly. I love you, fox. Don't go.
Kurama was on the verge of tears. To have Hiei let his defenses down and see that this was the state he had been reduced to--by Kurama--was almost more than he could stand.
The Youko managed to pull away. "Hiei, I love you. I won't leave you. Anything you want, koibito." I just want to hold you... Kurama thought desperately. Hiei, Hiei, Hiei...
"Do you mean it, fox?" Hiei whispered, his words a hot rush of air against Kurama's neck.
Kurama trembled at the feeling, his arms still straining at their bonds, wanting to wrap around the little body and reassure him... "Yes, Hiei. Please don't doubt me... Hiei, I love you more than anything."
Troubled red eyes met Kurama's again. "I..." the fire-demon began.
Kurama leaned up and kissed him lightly on the lips, then again, on the cheek, and many times, wherever he could reach with his limited range of motion. All the time whispering, "I love you, I love you, Hiei."
At last Hiei pushed him back, both hands on the Youko's shoulders. His face and eyes still held fears and doubts as he opened his mouth. "Kurama..." he paused, his gaze intensifying. "Then you promise you'll take a vacation?"
Kurama gaped. His mouth opened and then closed again, unable to quite form a response. "I-is that all?!" he finally managed.
"Mm." Hiei assented solemnly.
Kurama stared at him some more. "Well... yeah..." he said.
Hiei frowned. "Your word on it?"
"Of course!"
"Well, all right then." Hiei said, the hint of a pout in his voice.
Kurama smiled, relieved. "Great Inari, Hiei... you are so complicated!"
"Hn."
Kurama sighed slightly. All the familiar barriers were back in place--almost. He realized suddenly that they were probably there as much to protect him as they were to protect Hiei... "Hiei?"
"Nn?"
"I want you to tell me the next time something bothers you this much. Before you feel like this."
"Hn."
Kurama grinned. "Not that I mind the King's treatment, of course. You can keep that up if you want."
Hiei snorted.
"Hiei?"
"Hm?"
Kurama placed a feather-light kiss on the fire-demon's throat. "I think you'd better finish what you started."
"Wha--?" Kurama raised his leg to brush gently against the bulge in Hiei's pants and the youkai gasped. The fire-demon actually blushed--just a bit. "You... you want me to... even after I... forced you...?"
"Hiei, you couldn't have forced me to do anything I really didn't want to."
Hiei cocked an eyebrow. "Really?"
Kurama smiled back. "Humour my pride, Hiei."
"Hn. Okay."
Hiei wiggled out of his pants then kissed him again. This time the kiss was slow, untouched by fear or desperation. Hiei's arousal was demanding though. He slid down over Kurama's body, kissing his chest briefly in passing, until he'd reached Kurama's hips. Deftly, he manouvered himself between the kitsune's legs, draping Kurama's knees over his shoulders. He paused to glance questioningly up at Kurama. The Youko murmured his assent.
Hiei moved forward and pushed in slowly. Kurama bit his lip as he entered, but the pain was brief. The fire-demon leaned over his lover as he pushed all the way inside, until the two were nearly eye to eye once more. Hiei gave a gentle thrust, and Kurama's body arced up to meet him, a moan of pleasure escaping his barely-parted lips.
Yes... this is what I needed... Kurama, thank you...
The fire-demon groaned softly as he was caught up in the sensation, thrusting a bit harder. He felt Kurama growing hard against him and increased his pace, wanting to reach...
Kurama turned his head, muffling a cry in the flesh of his arm as Hiei hit that place deep inside him. He arched his back, flinging his head back, his arms taut against their restraints. Kurama rocked his hips back to meet Hiei's thrusts, bringing Hiei deeper and deeper. Searing pleasure shot through his body in explosive bursts as Hiei touched that place again, and again...
Conscious thought was borne away on a wave of passion as the two demons climaxed together. Hiei collapsed on top of Kurama, throwing exhausted arms around him in a breathless embrace. Kurama kissed him gently, still gasping for breath, sighing as Hiei slid out of him. Hiei kissed him back, very slowly.
"Ai shiteru, Kurama," he breathed at last, resting his head against the fox's shoulder.
"I love you, Hiei," Kurama sighed contentedly.
Hiei gave him a squeeze and rolled off of him to cuddle into his side.
Their breathing echoed loud through the room as they waited for their hearts to stop racing, and when it finally quieted, they were both sound asleep.
Hiei opened the door to the roof and stepped out. The long, graceful figures of two cat-demons were stretched lazily in the sun. The nearest one blinked huge black eyes sleepily at him. "So, how did it go?"
"Did you convince him?" his green-haired sister asked, rolling onto her stomach and regarding him with identical obsidian eyes.
"Hn." Hiei said, walking over and scratching Asa behind the ears. She immediately struck up a loud purr.
"It must have been pretty good," she said. "Empaths back in the Makai felt that one!" Hiei frowned and tugged her long braid playfully.
"Well?" Koma asked, rising onto his hands and knees and stretching his arms out in front of him.
"If I didn't," the fire-demon replied at last, "He's going to be spending a lot of time tied to the bed."
"You tied him up?" Koma asked incredulously. "So that's what he was so mad about!"
Hiei flashed him a glare.
"Sorry," Koma said, hoisting himself into a sitting position. "I did block you out once I figured out what was going on."
"Keeping a mind-reader and an empath around is bad for privacy," Hiei growled. "You two should've..."
"Awww, Hiei-san!" Asa pleaded. "We already left you guys the apartment! We can't go anywhere else in the Ningenkai without causing a panic!"
Hiei frowned for a few seconds more, then shrugged.
"HIEI!!!!" Kurama's voice rent the peaceful afternoon.
The three youkai on the roof winced visibly.
"Hiei, don't tell me you didn't--"
Hiei grimmaced. "Well, I thought to be safe..."
"HIEI!!!!"
"You'd better hurry, Hiei-san!" Asa said, jumping to her feet. "Meanwhile, I think it's about time 'Niisan and I visited Yukina and Genkai... ne, Koma?"
"Right!" her brother agreed hurriedly, grabbing her hand and leaping for the treetops.
"Ja!!" the siblings yelled from a distance.
"Hn. Stupid youkai," Hiei grumbled. "Then again, I probably shouldn't have left him tied to the bed..."
The fire-demon turned and dashed for the apartment faster than he had ever travelled in his life.
